About Us

The Montgomery County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association (MCVFRA) is made up of 19 separate, independent, local f fire and rescue departments (LFRDs) in Montgomery County, Maryland. The MCVFRA works for the betterment of the fire and rescue service in Montgomery County, to better protect and serve the people of the County. The MCVFRA also comments and recommends to the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Chief, the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Commission, the Montgomery County Council and Executive, and state officials, any changes that will better the delivery of fire and rescue service to the citizens of Montgomery County. Each member department has its President and Chief and one alternate delegate. The MCVFRA meets on the third Thursday of each month, virtually or at a hosting department.
